The Journey of an Artwork: From Inspiration to Canvas

Every artwork begins with a feeling—a moment of curiosity, a story waiting to be explored, or a visual detail that refuses to be forgotten.
My work is deeply inspired by India's rich artistic heritage. The timeless elegance of Pichwai, the storytelling traditions of Madhubani and Gond art, the reflective beauty of Lippan craftsmanship, and the intricate details found in historic architecture often find their way into my creative world. Yet inspiration rarely comes from a single source. It may emerge from a mythological tale, an ancient monument, a pattern observed in nature, or even the way light falls across a textured surface.
Before a piece takes form, ideas are allowed to evolve. They are collected, revisited, and reimagined until they begin to develop a language of their own. Rather than recreating tradition, I seek to engage in a dialogue with it—honoring its essence while exploring contemporary expression.
Texture plays a central role in this journey. Layers, depth, and materiality allow each artwork to move beyond the canvas and become something more tactile and immersive. Surface and form are carefully considered, creating pieces that reveal new details as they catch the light or are viewed from different perspectives.
What ultimately emerges is not just an image, but an interpretation—a meeting point between heritage and imagination, tradition and modernity. Every artwork carries traces of its inspiration while remaining open to personal meaning and discovery.
Perhaps that is why no two pieces are ever truly alike.
Each artwork follows its own path, shaped by evolving ideas, artistic intuition, and countless creative decisions made along the way. The result is a one-of-a-kind expression that cannot be exactly repeated.
The canvas may hold the final artwork, but it also carries something less visible: fragments of history, echoes of culture, and the quiet journey that brought the piece to life.
